WIN a bottle of Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin!
We’ve teamed up with our friends over at Jaisalmer to offer one of their rather lovely bottles of Indian gin just in time for World Cocktail Day on May 13th.
Taking its name from the historic city of Jaisalmer, the Golden City, Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin is a triple-distilled spirit, handcrafted in a traditional copper pot still in small batches inside a distillery in the foothills of the Himalayas. Seven of the 11 botanicals used in the distillation come from India, where the use of botanicals is a time-honoured tradition. Their recipe is derived from the ancient Indian knowledge of herbs.

The Master Distiller who created the drink has selected Coriander and Vetiver, a complex spice grown in the fields around Jaisalmer itself. Sweet Orange Peel from Central India which compliments the citrus and floral tones of the gin, Cubeb Berries and Lemongrass from Southern India, Darjeeling Green Tea leaves from Eastern India and Lemon Peel from Western India. Other botanicals include Angelica Root, Liquorice and Caraway Seeds which lend a spicy, slightly anise-tinged flavour to the gin. The Master Distiller wanted to retain the classic gin flavour using juniper berries whilst adding a refreshing twist with Indian botanicals.
All those flavour combinations help’s to make Jaisalmer cocktails and G&T’s to die for.
Here’s the Jaisalmer Golden Fort cocktail recipe for you:
50ml Jaisalmer Gin
15ml Lime Juice
10ml Cinnamon Syrup (see recipe below)
50ml Cloudy Apple Juice
Garnish: Sliced Green Apple
Pour Jaisalmer Gin over cubed ice. Add fresh lime juice, cinnamon syrup and cloudy apple juice. Garnish with an apple fan of 3 slices and add grated nutmeg on top (optional).
