The Best Water Bottles on the Market

We’ve championed the world of reusable drinking bottles for a while now and the simple reason why is, your everyday shop bought usually single-use bottle, apart from containing Bisphenol A (BPA) and Phthalates, which are both endocrine-disrupting chemicals that have a wide range of long-lasting negative effects on the human body, are also very difficult to recycle and therefore the majority end up on landfills, seeping aforementioned chemicals into the ground or even worse into the sea.

It’s believed that over a million plastic water bottles are bought across the world every minute, and as things stand right now that figure is going up. If things continue in such a manner, it’ll likely become a similar environmental crisis to that of climate change, and given that plastic bottles take about 450 years to decompose, we’ll be living in a right old mess. Us humans tend to leave things until they get really bad before we take action, but thankfully there is something every one of us can do right now to help, buy a reusable bottle! If half of us took action, imagine the incredible impact it could have?

SIGG Traveller – £15.99

The aesthetically pleasing, extremely lightweight SIGG Traveller really is one of the classiest everyday bottles on the market. Being Swiss made, you’re left with a bottle carved from a single piece of the highest grade aluminium, meaning there are no joins which results in an unbreakable bottle that doesn’t leak. It’s a great option for outdoorsy types and carries a litre of water to boot. BPA and Phthalate free, the inner lining has no effect on the taste of your water and with a vibrant range of colours available, it’s safe to say we’re huge fans of the SIGG.

Bio-Synergy Fruit Infuser Water Bottle – 14.99

This unique, novel, dare we say ingenious water bottle has an additional screw in chamber that can be filled with your favourite fruits (and even vegetables if that’s your thing), that creates a wonderfully infused water that presumably also contains the additional vitamins and antioxidants. Many find it hard to drink enough water and this bottle goes a long way to providing a solution, we found lemon or cucumber to be the perfect addition, but strawberries, blueberries, well any berries would work well – but that seems like an expensive hobby to us. Perfect for those who need an added dash of flavour to help them get through their two litres a day, helping you to feel more energised, and with a distinctly healthier glow.

BRITA Fill and Go Active – £13.20

For all those bottled mineral water obsessives who think nothing of spending tens of pounds a month, maybe the BRITA Fill and Go Active will help wean you off your habitual routine. Containing a microdisc that forms a barrier between bottle and lid, the satisfying and clean tasting result lasts for 150 litres, which equates to approximately a month give or take. It’s a solid and durable product that once again is BPA free, perfect for those who insist on the clean, fresh, spring water taste of the single-use bottle market. It’s time to do your bit people.

If you’re looking for a bottle with some serious shelf-life, then this double-walled Marine Grade stainless steel bottle by Red is for you. The higher quality grade steel means no corrosion so you could be handing this one down to the next generation. Another key feature here is the multi-cap element with your standard canteen fitting and changeable rubberised sports cap adding extra functions and making it compatible with hot or cold drinks. The bottle’s double wall means hot drinks stay hot for 12hrs and cold drinks for a cool 24hrs. Plus its 750ml capacity means when you’re not hydrating you can fit the contents of a whole chilled bottle of wine as you take in the last of the summer sun.
