Everyones Favourite Larry is Back in New Curb Your Enthusiasm Trailer

Larry David from Curb Your Enthusiasm

The trailer for the hotly anticipated new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm has just dropped and the great news is Larry is just as Larry as ever. It’s been six very long years since Mr David and his extended comedy family graced our telly screens and from first looks it’s going to be well worth the wait. The series premieres on October 1st, so just twenty more days, not that we’re counting honest.

From the trailer we get to see what looks set to become some classic Larry moments like telling a sobbing woman at a funeral to “shut up” and shoving a lady to the ground that dares to spray some perfume on him in a store. The tagline reads ‘nothing has changed’ and given these antics that looks to be the case, apart from one notable addition to the already brilliant cast.

Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston takes on the unenviable role of Larry’s rather weary looking therapist. He’s certainly got his work cut out with this patient! Other trailer highlights include Larry getting flung headfirst off a bus and discussions around the subject of constipation and whether it should prevent you from going to work.

At one point long-suffering Larry friend, comedian Richard Lewis tells him, “Your devoid of anything that’s remotely caring or empathetic.” Which LD takes as a huge compliment.

The show’s Executive Producer Jeff Schaffer recently spoke to Variety and gave up a few season 9 spoilers, like the fact Larry and Cheryl are both still divorced, but also single (watch this space), and we learned that the brilliant Ted Danson is back and that we’ll get longer episodes. Schaffer went on to tell them,”This season is dense and full and big because there’s been a five-year log-jam of indignities and violations of etiquette. He’s been hoarding indiscretions like Scrooge McDuck, and now he’s finally going to let them all out.”

If that doesn’t whet the appetite nothing will. Whilst every series has offered huge doses of perfectly observed cynicism and humour, let’s hope it’s very much a return to earlier episodes when Larry was at his belligerent best.

All in all, hopes are high that season 9 will be pretty, pretty, pretty good. October 1st cannot come quick enough.
