A Guide to Harnessing Your Qi For Those That Live in the City

It’s no secret that people around the world have a love-hate relationship with cities. While the hustle and bustle can fuel creativity and excitement, there’s nothing quite like a serene escape with a bit of peace and quiet. But when an idyllic getaway isn’t in close reach, Master Oh is here to help alleviate the everyday stresses that come with city life.

Encouraging the nation to tap into their ‘human energy’ also known as Qi, Master Oh practices a distinctive healing method that enables people to harness their energy to achieve a deep sense of contentment and happiness. An effective and sustainable means to remove stress, reduce anxiety and recharge, Master Oh is on a mission to teach people how to cultivate the power of Qi.

Responsible for keeping everything in balance and harmony, Qi provides communication between all cells, organs and systems in the body. According to Eastern medicine, problems can develop when energy levels within the body drop, blocked or become stagnant or toxic, consequently making the body more prone to illness or injury, and less able to recover if problems arise.

Centred around utilising the body’s vital energy, Master Oh champions the natural flow of Qi to promote wellbeing and ward off emotional and physical ailments. Renowned for his ability to realign and correct the circulation of energy in the human body, Master Oh is highly regarded as the Master of Qi.

Master Oh explains,

“We live in a world where we are each faced with different challenging and as a result we are affected by so much suffering and pain because we are disconnected from our original nature. This disconnection is experienced by not only individuals but also families and communities which ultimately creates negative energy within the world.”

“However, when we learn to harness the power of Qi, our minds become clear, bright and beautiful. We have more compassion, devotion, become selfless, and most importantly understand the true purpose of our lives – who we are and how we should live. Now is the time to go beyond religion, philosophy, race or conditioning. We need to remove everything which is creating separation and recreate harmony.”

Here are Master Oh’s top tips on how to harness your Qi if you’re living in a city.

Meditate

There’s a popular phrase ‘start as you mean to go on’. It is so important to begin your day with the right mind, one that is positive, calm and peaceful. With this mind we are able to support the free flow of Qi energy – our life force – around the body. An abundant and free flow of Qi is what keeps us physically, mentally and emotionally healthy. Stress and negative thought patterns can create blockages in our energy system creating an imbalance as well as draining our energy.

Meditation is the perfect antidote to this as it calms the nervous system, reduces stress and helps us to recharge, enabling us to feel calm and peaceful. It also gives us the clarity to observe any negativity we may have and rearrange our mind, helping us to ‘start the day as we mean to go on’. Start your day with a 10-15 minute meditation and see the difference it will make to your life.

Good food

It’s no secret that food is to the body, what petrol is to a car. Eating regularly as opposed to snacking on sugary treats or caffeinated drinks will help maintain energy levels. Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day as our bodies are made up of 70% water.

Keep Warm

With the weather proving unpredictable, it’s important to regulate our body temperature to avoid draining energy. The lower abdomen and the top of the head are the two major energy centres and should be kept warm whatever the weather. You can also support your energy system by avoiding cold drinks and drinking warm water especially during the colder months of the year.

Create happiness

It’s important to remember the power of the mind – a positive and happy mind supports our body, mind and spirit. Gratitude is an essential ingredient to cultivating a happy mind. Express gratitude to others as well as reflecting on all the things you have to be grateful for. Practice opening your heart to others with words and actions – a kind act is never forgotten and will give you so much joy and happiness.

Smile

The famous Louis Armstrong song goes, ‘When you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you.’ Smiling is infectious, when you smile you can make others happy. Practice smiling in front of the mirror. Even if you don’t feel like it, the more you practice, the happier you will become. Not only does smiling make you and others happy, but it also enables the free flow of Qi around your body further supporting your health and happiness.
